On Friday, November 15th, the Wind Ensemble will perform the world premiere of Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Brett Dean’s Engelsflügel, a new work the composer wrote for the University of Louisville School of Music. Tim Reynish, renowned conductor from Great Britain, spent September 25th through the 29th in residence with the University of Louisville Wind Ensemble. This was Reynish’s third visit to Louisville during the past decade. As expected, his insight, fine musicianship and wit was appreciated by all. On Wednesday, October 2nd, high school students gathered together for an evening of masterclasses with our very own UofL Music Faculty.  We had a record breaking number of students attend this year, topping off at 250.  All students received masterclasses for their individual instrument for the upcoming KMEA All-State auditions, free of charge.  High schools that attended this year’s Workshop were: Oldham County, Jeffersontown, YPAS, Butler, North Bullitt, Bullitt East, Martha Layne Collins, Trimble County, South Oldham,…
