The University of Louisville Wind Ensemble, directed by Frederick Speck, will be featured in performance at the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles International Conference in San Jose, California. The conference takes place July 12-18, 2015, with featured performances by ensembles from around the world presented at the historic California Theatre. Other artists on the University of Louisville program include, Dr. Amy Acklin, guest conductor, and Professor Adam McCord, alto saxophone soloist.
Not strangers to the international stage, the University of Louisville Wind Ensemble performed at the 2007 WASBE Conference in Killarney, Ireland, and the 2013 Jungfrau Music Festival in Interlaken, Switzerland. In addition to the featured concert performance, the University of Louisville will have an even deeper presence at the conference, performing as ensemble-in-residence for the International Conducting Masterclass which will be led by Portuguese conductor, Maestro Alberto Roque.
The UofL Wind Ensemble will have a send-off concert on the Main Stage at the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, on Sunday, July 12th at 7:00 pm. This concert is free and open to the public.
